How The Ramp works

The Ramp is a launchpad on Raydium LaunchLab. The curve, the pool and the fees live in Raydium’s programs on Solana, not on our server.

The basics

1LaunchOne transaction creates the coin, its curve and your optional first buy.
2CurveAnyone buys and sells against the curve. Price rises as SOL comes in.
3GraduateAt 85 SOL raised, the coin moves to a Raydium pool.
4TradeIt trades on Raydium and every Solana wallet and aggregator.

Every coin has a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. 79.31% are sold on the curve. The rest goes into the Raydium pool at graduation, paired with the SOL the curve raised. No tokens are set aside for the creator or for The Ramp.

If the creator wants a stake, they buy it on the curve like everyone else. A first buy inside the launch transaction is still a normal curve buy at the starting price. It just lands before anyone else can buy.

Graduation

When the curve has raised 85 SOL, Raydium’s program closes the curve and opens a Raydium CPMM pool with the remaining tokens and the raised SOL. Nobody has to press a button, and nobody can stop it.

The pool’s LP tokens are never handed to the creator. What happens to them depends on the fee mode: all locked in Lite, or 70% burned and 30% locked in Rewards. Burned LP can never be withdrawn. Locked LP can’t be withdrawn either, but its share of the pool’s trading fees can be claimed.

Fee modes

You pick a mode before launch. Each mode is its own LaunchLab platform with fixed rates, so the fees can’t be raised on a coin after it launches, by us or anyone else.

Per trade on the curveLiteRewards
  • Lite is the cheapest way to launch: Raydium’s 0.25% and nothing more. The Ramp earns only after graduation, from the locked LP’s share of pool fees.
  • Rewards charges 1% per trade. 0.25% goes to the creator, 0.25% to holders, 0.25% to The Ramp, and 0.25% to Raydium.

After graduation, trades pay the Raydium pool fee instead of the curve fees above.

Holder rewards (Rewards mode)

The holder share builds up in the coin’s platform fee vault on chain. The Ramp splits each coin’s balance into the holder part and The Ramp part using the fixed rates above, then pays holders in SOL.

  • Your share follows how much you held and for how long. Holding through the period counts more than a quick in and out.
  • The creator’s wallet, wallets that bought in the launch block, and known sniper bots are left out.
  • Every payout is a public Solana transaction, and the coin page lists them.
Payouts are sent by The Ramp’s fee wallet, which is signed by a person, not an automatic key on a server. Expect them in batches, not on every trade.

Safety grade

Each coin page shows a letter from A to F, worked out from what’s on chain since launch. It is a summary of risk signals, not advice, and it changes as the coin trades.

SignalWhy it matters
Launch bundleShare of supply bought in the first seconds by linked wallets. Big bundles tend to dump on later buyers.
SnipersBots that bought in the launch block and how much they still hold.
Creator holdingsHow much the creator holds now, and whether they have sold.
Top 10 holdersShare held by the ten largest wallets, excluding the curve and pool.
Real volumeHow much of the trading comes from real people rather than bots trading with themselves. Almost no real traders means C at best.
Creator lockWhether the creator locked part of their buy, and for how long.

Mint or freeze authority still switched on means F. Coins launched here always have both off.

An A needs the launch bundle and the top 10 share both checked; until then a coin shows B at best. The coin list shows a quick grade, and the coin page shows the full one, which reads the launch itself.

Creator lock

A creator can lock part of their first buy in a Streamflow vesting contract when they launch. Choose 25 to 100% of the first buy and a schedule: a 7-day cliff then 30 days of vesting, or a 30-day cliff then 90 days.

The contract is public. Anyone can open it and see how much is locked and when it unlocks. The lock is shown on the coin page and improves the safety grade.

Launch for an X or GitHub account

You can launch a coin for someone by their X or GitHub handle. It uses Rewards mode, and the coin’s creator is The Ramp’s escrow wallet, so the 0.25% creator fee builds up for that account instead of for you.

  1. The account owner opens the claim page and enters the wallet they want paid.
  2. They post a one-day code from that account: an X post, or a public GitHub gist.
  3. We ask X or GitHub who wrote it. If the author is that account and the code matches, the wallet is linked. Claiming again with a new code changes the wallet.

Payouts go out in batches from the escrow wallet, signed by a person. Each one is a public Solana transaction. Until the account claims, its share waits in the escrow.

Launching for someone doesn’t mean they know about the coin or endorse it. Every coin page shows whether the account has claimed.

Chat

There is one chat room for the whole site and one for each coin. Every message is signed by the sender’s wallet, so names can’t be faked. Messages are rate-limited and can be reported.

API

Everything on the site is also open as a public API: free, no key, read-only, and allowed from any website (CORS). It returns the same numbers the pages show, from the same live engine. Use it for bots, dashboards or your own terminal.

Base URL /api/v1 on this site. Every answer is JSON. The limit is 240 requests a minute per IP. Errors look like {"error":{"code":"bad_mint","message":"…"}} with a matching HTTP status. Status 202 means the coin is still loading: try again in a few seconds.

GET/api/v1The list of endpoints.
GET/api/v1/modesThe two fee modes and where each part of the fee goes.
GET/api/v1/coinsCoins on The Ramp. sort=new|volume|mcap, limit=1..200 (default 50), mode=lite|rewards.
GET/api/v1/coins/:mintOne coin: price, market cap, 24h volume and change, curve progress, safety grade with its signals, creator lock, fee mode.
GET/api/v1/coins/:mint/tradesLatest trades, newest first. limit=1..300 (default 100). Page back with before=, set to the next value from the last answer.
GET/api/v1/coins/:mint/candlesOHLCV in SOL per token. tf=15s|1m|5m|15m|1h|4h (default 1m). Fields t o h l c v, where t is unix seconds and v is SOL.
GET/api/v1/coins/:mint/holdersThe top holders with their tokens and % of supply. The curve vault and the pool are labelled.
GET/api/v1/coins/:mint/rewardsRewards mode only: the holder pot by epoch. Add wallet= for what that wallet earned, was paid and is owed.
GET/api/v1/accounts/:kind/:handleCoins launched for an X or GitHub account (kind = x or github): earned, paid, claimed.
curl -s "https://theramp.fun/api/v1/coins?sort=volume&limit=5"

const r = await fetch('/api/v1/coins/' + mint + '/candles?tf=5m').then((x) => x.json());
for (const k of r.candles) console.log(k.t, k.c);

The API only reads. To launch or trade, use the site: each launch, buy and sell is built here and signed in your own wallet. Prices and grades come from the chain and can be a few seconds behind.

What we can’t do

  • Change a coin’s fees after launch. They are set by its platform on chain.
  • Mint more tokens or freeze anyone’s tokens. Both authorities are off.
  • Pull liquidity. The curve’s SOL sits in Raydium’s program, and graduated LP is burned or locked.
  • Hold your keys. Every launch, buy and sell is signed in your own wallet.

Meme coins are risky and most go to zero. Only trade what you can afford to lose.
